Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort, hotel in Queenstown

This apartment-style hotel is nestled on the shores of Queenstown's Lake Wakatipu, offering stunning views over the lake and surrounding mountain ranges.

The view in the promo pics of the room was the reason I booked this property. They exceeded my expectations. The apartment was spacious, well appointed and we even had a hot tub on our balcony. I was really nervous after reading a handful of reviews that were negative due to parking and renovations occurring, but the staff were extremely helpful and explained everything well. And we were certainly not bothered by noise at any time. The property is about 2km from the centre of town, but there is a shuttle bus that runs at various times of the morning and evening and this was helpful. Highly recommend this property if you want to spoil yourself a little after a long day of exploring and adventure

We loved our 4 day trip to Queenstown, and the surrounding region, had a wander around Arrowtown, lunch at the Fork & Tap Pub was squid and cheeseboard was it was delicious. We caught up with family that have recently moved to Cromwell and loved seeing this area. We enjoyed a drive through to Wanaka around the stunning homes being built there, in the evening we enjoyed dinner at Blu Kanu, we had the chef selection and it was exceptional, we are still talking about it. We had lunch at Ayrburn at the Manure Shed (seriously) we enjoyed the wine tasting and another lovely cheeseboard, not as good as Fork & Tap, but still excellent and the surroundings are out of this world gorgeous We enjoyed a drive through to Glenorchy, we also had dinner at Botswana Butchery which always delvers an amazing level of service. A truely relaxing break away from Auckland. Even though our accommodation was not perfect, we were not there much and loved every minute in Queenstown.

I’ve been in Queenstown 3 times.

I’ve been in Queenstown 3 times. I can’t say enough about the beauty in its natural surroundings. It’s so beautiful in summer and autumn. Pick a nice apartment and stay for a week. You can take a walk along the lake, or rent a bike, or paddle in the lake. There are just too many ways to celebrate the beauty. Avoid the tourist attractions and go to the off beaten tracks. Pack a picnic and sit under the sun for the fresh air. Queenstown is everything you want.

Queenstown is a mountain town on a lake with a beautiful waterfront. You can walk or bike around the lake. Lots of tourist shops, restaurants, and activities in and around the main centre. It is very easy to walk around Queenstown, more of a pain to drive as there is a lot packed into a small space. I wish they had a train from Christchurch and you could leave the car behind as there is enough to do by foot, boat or even tour bus for days.

The hotel was good, limited parking and a little on high on cost. Queenstown is nice little city, if you have time you can travel to Milford sound, but as we were there for two days, the Information Centre was only interested in selling the tours they do and we found out that there was more todo within the city, like Paragliding, Cable car and nice restaurants and cafes, English Gardens, Ferry across the lake etc.

Room has this hippie vibe. Stayed one night in a one-bedroom apartment with my family. It has a kitchenette. It was a plus for me that Sherwood is an eco-friendly place. Most of the amenities are vintage but works perfectly fine. So cool! There was a small kelvinator fridge. They also provided milk placed in a small glass bottle. Tea towels were provided instead. Cups are available. No microwave. The location was perfect; close to Queenstown CBD. There are outdoor recreational areas-- enjoyed playing table tennis! The view was exceptional too!

The hotel was brilliant. The staff were so friendly and really went the extra mile, offering to help carry my bags up to my room and being incredibly accommodating. The room was very clean, and they had provided a free bottle of water due to the Queenstown water contamination, which was a great touch as I had completely forgotten! The hotel is a short walk from the centre of Queenstown which was really handy, and not too far from the airport. I’d absolutely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Koura Apartments in Queenstown. The apartment is very thoughtfully designed with a minimalist but functional design that does not sacrifice comfort, very similar to what I've seen in Scandinavian countries. Our host, Kal, was very accommodating, and checking in and out was very easy. The location is fantastic, about a 5 min walk to central Queenstown. I highly recommend these apartments.

One of the selling points of this hotel is the beautiful view of the Remarkables and, if you book a room with a mountain view, you will enjoy stunning vistas across the Kawarau river. The room was clean and the staff polite. There are a few restaurants and shops within a 10 minute walk of the hotel - we particularly recommend Tham Nak Thai in the Remarkables Town Park shopping centre.
