EVERYTHING! Melvyn and Sindy were the best - very helpful and friendly. He let us check in early as we had planned a day out. The room was spotlessly clean. It was quiet, very comfortable. The attention to detail in our room and of the whole place was exceptional. Loved the American diner breakfast room. We enjoyed the fact that we could make our own breakfast with a good range of ingredients available.
If you're a car enthusiast, especially Morgans, then this is the place for you. A showroom full of these beautiful cars and we could see that they are Melvyn's passion. Loved the pink and blue his and hers ones!
Ideally situated close to Stansted Airport, Bishop's Stortford and the Henry Moore Foundation, to mention a few. A great place to book out for a birthday with family or friends.
The Pitstop is great value for money and definitely a place to visit again.

This is easily one of the topnotch places if you are flying in late at night or out early in the morning through Stansted, due to its proximity to the airport. The breakfast has an extensive selection of choices, and is available as early as 4 am, which works great for early morning flights.

This charming, quiet town has lovely canal walks and a large public park next to the town centre. The high street has good eateries and nice little shops. Don't miss the Coffee House Cafe, with it's great sandwiches and all-day cooked breakfast!
If you want to explore further the helpful staff in the central tourist office will suggest various self guided historic walks.
It is a perfect spot to overnight only a 15 minute drive from Stansted airport (and is NOT on the flight path, so no noise of passing planes), and easily reached by public bus #510 (or #509) which runs a regular service to and from the town even at night.

Bishops Stortford is a lovely old town which is relatively compact so it is easy to walk around the town centre. There is a good range of shops and quaint tea rooms and excellent restaurants. There’s a river and the station is close to the town centre. It can be a bit noisy especially on Saturday evenings.

Bishop's Stortford is a very picturesque town with friendly people who seem disposed to being welcoming and helpful to travellers. We were only passing through on our way from Stansted Airport to London, nevertheless, we enjoyed visiting the town and would have liked to have stayed a little longer to explore it a bit more

I had limited time to explore the town but I enjoyed walking around on Saturday and noting the mixture of the old historic architecture and the new building. There were plenty of options to eat or stop for a drink.

Lovely little town.
Lovely little town. We was just staying overnight for the Standon Calling Festival and it’s perfect location for anyone going to this. Just about 20 minutes in a taxi from the site. Lots of pubs and nice coffee shops for breakfast the next day. Nice quaint little town with plenty to do.

The location was perfect! It was a short walk to town with many restaurants, shops and grocery stores and the train station. Its proximity to Stansted Airport was extremely convenient by bus/train, making our flight out stress-free. The apartment itself was comfortable, spacious and quiet. The host was very responsive and welcoming.
Everything was just as described and we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay here. We hope to stay again next time we're in Bishop's Stortford!
This hotel is ideally suited for Stansted Airport and significantly better value than other local hotels. Travelling as a group of three our rooms were fine and comfortable and the staff friendly and enthusiastic. Bed was great. Hotel is within touching distance of pubs and restaurants to suit all budgets.
Reception area a bit tired looking but I'll forgive this in our post-lockdown climate.
The Jolly Brewery is perfect for our needs. Our son and his family live about a 10 minute walk away. With 4 children, they don't have extra sleeping space for us. Our room was clean, everything worked, the beds were comfortable, it was quiet and the hosts are friendly and helpful. We'll come again when we are next in Bishops Stortford.
Very helpful stuff, guy on resection was excellent, nothing to much trouble, impress as with his languages knowledge, great fun, unfortunately we don’t remember his name. Clean and cozy, beautiful walking area around hotel, birds were singing amazingly in the morning

The guest house itself was very pretty and the staff very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was also very tasty and excellent value for money. The location is just outside of Bishops Stortford but very quiet and peaceful.
The scenery at Down Hall Hotel was stunning. Our room was spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast was also fantastic, great quality food.
The staff in the spa were brilliant, so friendly and accommodating.
Price very good compared to other apartments I've stayed in in Bishops Stortford. Location also quiet which is surprising when located just off the high street. Property manager also nice to deal with.
The host took me to the local train station the morning I left, free of charge. This was not something we discussed upon booking so it was a very nice gesture which sure saved time and energy.
