The welcome we received from Karen ( I think that was her name) on reception on arrival was second to none… so friendly and genuine. It was especially a lovely touch to be given a gift bag full of goodies as we were celebrating our friend’s 50th. Every member of staff was so friendly- the room was very clean ..I just felt the whole hotel to friendly and efficient. A happy experience!

Kings Hotel, hotel in Brighton & Hove

Situated in central Brighton and with views of the seafront, this magnificent Grade II Listed building overlooks the West Pier and offers free Wi-Fi.

The location and the staff were both great….. The first thing we notice was the cleanliness of the communal areas. I definitely think the lady who we saw frantically polishing and vacuuming took pride in her work… and it was noticeable and lovely to see :-) Having parking spaces available in such a busy town was a bonus.

Blok-74, hotel in Brighton & Hove

1.2 km from Hove Beach, Blok-74 is set in Brighton & Hove and offers free WiFi and express check-in and check-out.

We originally planned to stay in a hotel just over the road, but after checking in and going to our room, we had to cancel and book somewhere else (it was definitely a poor hotel). This hotel was a stark contrast; had easy and quick check-in - we had to speak to the staff as we booked so late and didn’t get an access code, but they were very quick to help and were very lovely - the room was beautifully lit, the decor was superb and modern, the bed was incredibly large and comfy and despite being a room on the bottom floor (which usually puts me off), it didn’t make a difference as the windows were blurred and so it felt very private but still had natural light to enter too. The bathroom facilities were great and modern. The sink was a tad small but honestly wasn’t that much of a problem. There were coat hooks, bed stands and a little table for us both to use. I would 100% stay here again and plan on doing so on any new excursions to Brighton; not to mention it’s in a superb location if you like being in the heart of the city. Obviously it was more than we wanted to pay (and we actually never got a refund for the other hotel so paid just under £200 for the two together) but you certainly do get what you pay for, which we have learnt.

FAQs about hotels in Brighton & Hove

Colourful by Day and Night

Known for colourful nightlife and traditional English seaside pursuits, Brighton and neighbour Hove are the closest beach resorts to London, making them popular end points for classic car runs from the capital. Many end at the racecourse, a few streets from Brighton Marina, Europe’s largest, housing several shops and eateries. Many Brighton guest houses on Booking.com are also nearby.

Running along the beachfront is the world’s oldest operating electric railway, ending by Brighton Pier. Lit up at night and also known as Palace Pier, this city icon houses amusements and rides, and is one place to pick up some famous Brighton Rock, the confectionery sharing its name with an edgy Graham Greene novel set here.

A new addition, the Brighton Wheel is right by the pier, while one of its most famous attractions is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal retreat built in Indian style.

Just west are 2 of the most popular Brighton shopping spots – Churchill Square shopping centre and The Lanes with its narrow streets and unusual shops. This area also has several Brighton hotels with parking, and the Artists Quarter, a series of ex-fishing huts that are now galleries. The arts are a big thing here and Brighton Festival is the UK’s 2nd largest arts festival, while Brighton Pride is also a big event on the annual calendar.

Love Brighton for long walks and shopping with plenty of places to eat & drink, like a lot of places post Covid it can be a bit scruffy and run down in places with empty shops but all the staff we came across were great, obviously gets a bit lively at times but the council have security patrols walking around during the day and evenings so feels safer than some places we've been.

It's just great to walk around. The Pavilion is a must. And if the weather's nice, visit Rottingdean! It's a lovely village on the edge of the city. Strangely the city tour bus doesn't go there. But the bus services are generally excellent and you can explore East Sussex and the coast. No buses to Arundel or Petworth to the west, Brighton is missing a trick there.

Brighton is a mini London. You can find all things there, but within walking distance. I felt safe, however on Friday night I smelled weed throughout the main street and pretty packed. Brighton is built on hills, so expect to use your legs, it reminded me of walking in San Francisco. Weather was pretty cold in April, raining, very windy, but overall, I liked It a lot!

Everything, super friendly & helpful hosts, our welcome basket was amazing and the extra gifts give in the week were such a surprise. The place is clean, comfortable & so well equipped, with kitchen utensils & bathroom toiletries. Our hosts told us about the buses, which run so frequently to Brighton & Saltdean, the nearest beach for swimming, which is the best way to reach both destinations.
