The suite we stayed in had a terrific view, very spacious, terrific pool area, and great location. The property manager was always helpful. We were also a day late to the hotel as our ferry was cancelled and the whole interaction with the hotel was managed terrifically

Perfect location to be just steps away from the Chora, yet tucked away in a quiet corner for a restful sleep at night. Its terrace offers a beautiful view of the Church of Panagia. Pickup and drop off at the port is seamless and convenient. And we enjoyed the breakfast too!
The most wonderful thing about this establishment is the lovely hotel manager who went out of the way to make sure we are adequately warm and dressed for the very windy day. He provided useful information and assisted us when our ferry got cancelled due to the high wind conditions. We stayed longer in Folegandros longer than expected but our heart is full because of the warmth of staff here :)

Quietly located in the scenic main town of Folegandros, Aegeo Hotel follows the Cycladic architectural style and offers rooms with views of the Aegean Sea or the traditional courtyard.
The property is very well kept and perfectly located.
The town absorbed tourists so that they weren't intrusive.
The town absorbed tourists so that they weren't intrusive. The most scenic part of the town was more or less off-limits to tourists. While little shops had popped up all over the town, they were mostly tastefully adorned with a painted sign announcing their name and wares. Probably the tourist and the local weighting of the town was even. I've visited Folegandros numerous times over the past 45 years and I've seen it grow gracefully. In the early days, it was a declining farming island as the young people migrated to the big cities. Then, there was only one hotel in the town. But along the line, it resisted the temptation to sell out like some of the other Greek islands have done and it is now a very restful and satisfying place to visit.

This is a great relaxed town with plenty of dining options on 4 squares, plenty of shops and enough to do. You need a swimming pool at your hotel as beaches are too far to walk. Boat trip around island to reach all beaches was great option. Cheap bus to port every half hour or hire scooter or car. Small island can be covered quickly if you have own transport. Beaches was not our priority so if that's your thing choose a hotel on one of the two inhabited coastal spots! Folegandros is a quaint island with donkeys and rural working farms with enough small beaches if you make some effort from Chora.

The cutest little town on the cutest little island!
The cutest little town on the cutest little island! We rented a quad bike to get around which made it so easy to roam the entire island. Hiking up to watch the sunset at the Church of Panagia is a must! Most restaurants and shops close for siesta between 3pm - 5pm, but the whole town comes to life once the sun sets. We had delicious meals at Piatsa, Souvlaki Club, and Araxe. Parasagas has amazing gelato and the drinks at Aquarius were divine!

1. The church at the top of the hill, accessible through the zig-zag path. You get the best views of Chora from that path. You can see how Chora sits on top of a 200-meter cliff.
2. The spectacular views - so barren, so rocky, so wild but so beautiful.
3. Ano Meria. There are some cool cafes to check out and buy some local liqueur. Do not forget to visit the Folk Museum too. It is very interesting.
4. 1790 Wine Cave. Go for a meal there. It is a high-end restaurant but well worth a visit. It is right next door to Antheia's Apartments.
5. Do visit Canelle Bakery! It is quite hidden but have lovely cakes and pastries.
6. Try the local watermelon pie.
7. Check out Agali Beach for its picture-perfect turquoise blue waters.
8. Try the 52% Rakomelo in the town centre in one of the restaurants. You can see it prominently advertised on the garden wall of the restaurant as you walk around. It is served to you ON FIRE!
9. Try the fig gelato in one of the gelato cafes.
10. Visit Fata Morgana hotel and have a cocktail at its bar. There are some cool cocktails there. And a very friendly bartender works there too. You can ask him about the island of Nysiros if you want to stay on a volcanic island.

Lovely, scenic charming town!
Lovely, scenic charming town! Cute pedestrian streets leading to four main squares. Note that many restaurants aren't open at lunch time during May. To Zimaraki was my favourite dinner place - excellent home made pasta, pizza and salads.

You’ll find lots of cute shops and lovely restaurants with delicious, authentic food in Chora. Transport to the port, nearby beaches is straightforward, but be aware that fir most of the good ones you’ll need to take a boat from Angali or Karavostasi (the port). The landscape is classic Cycladic, rocky and beautiful. The locals are the friendliest I’ve ever encountered. Very authentic, plenty of tourists at high season but somehow not a ‘touristy’ island.

The pool area is a perfect paradise to relax at after exploring the island, you can then wander into the lovely Chora in 5 minutes for food and to look around. You can see the church of Panagia from the hotel and it looks amazing at night (would also recommend walking up there for sunset).
The staff were so helpful our whole stay and especially on the last day when our ferry was delayed, they kept checking for us and rearranged our transfer to the port whilst letting us just relax by the pool. We’d definitely stay here again we loved it.
The view is absolutely spectacular, the best on the whole island. It's a very peaceful place to go on holiday and take the opportunity to disconnect. You open the bedroom door and all you see in front of you is the sea... the sea and... the sea. The room has everything you need to be comfortable. There are numerous restaurants near the hotel, excellent beaches and it's a great island with few people compared to other islands like Santorini or Mikonos. For me, it's the real Greek island that stands out for its simplicity.
Our stay at Ampelos was exceptional. The spotless rooms, the gardens, the view of Chora and overall appearance of the hotel are excellent. The port transfer was very much appreciated. The breakfast was superb with the freshest bread, yogurt and eggs. What makes Ampelos exceptional are the hosts Areti and Theo, they make you feel very welcome and genuinely care you are have a good time at the hotel and on the beautiful island of Folegandros. It feels like you are visiting friends.
Perfect location close to everything yet quiet enough to disconnect.
Stunning scenic views to Panagia church. We loved relaxing on our balcony.

The location is perfect, inside Chora, with an amazing view and one of the most beautiful sunset you will ever see.

Wonderful hotel in Folegandros! The service was excellent - the staff went above and beyond with help and suggestions. And, the hotel had beautiful views. It is a perfect location just a quick couple minute walk from the main town square. We would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend to anyone visiting this Island!
I was extremely happy at the Aria Hotel! It had an amazing view, clean and comfortable rooms and a very attractive pool deck. The hotel staff were very helpful and I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone. Loved the quiet charm of Folegandros.
Very well maintained clean and comfortable hotel. Room had a fridge kettle hairdryer and outside chairs. Owner picked me up from port and dropped me off. Close to chora and bus stop. Very peaceful with small pool area with wonderful views and sun beds
This is an excellent hotel. The service is excellent. It is one minutes walk from the village. We where picked up at the port. Vasilis is an excellent host and we where treated with that marvelous greek hospitality. We highly recommend this hotel.
Malika the owner made our stay so enjoyable. She was very helpful and make always extra to please the whole family. The location of the hotel is also a big plus ! Next to the little downtown.
We are for sure coming back to Khallisti hotel
We had a great stay at Polikandia. It couldn’t be in a better location, steps away from the Plaka which is the most charming town. The hotel pool was amazing, such friendly service and free transportation to the port was cherry on top.
The hotel is 5 min walk to the center of Chora, on the top of a slope so the view we got of the city, he church and the path to it from the balcony was amazing.
