San Antonio River Walk
Hidden beneath the streets of central San Antonio, this riverside promenade is an iconic city centrepiece. The San Antonio River Walk connects local landmarks via a network of waterside walkways, located one level below the traffic. Buzzing shops, bars and restaurants draw in year-round crowds, while annual festivals see the river fill with coloured lights and flowery floats.

Do not leave town without going to the Riverwalk.
Do not leave town without going to the Riverwalk. It's much cooler lower than street level. Visit night after Thanksgiving to see all the super tall trees filled with Holiday lights, ride the River boats, catch a river parade, etc. Generally, it's not cold in Fall or Winter until December. Also, Fiesta is a great time to visit! Watch PBS on demand to see Joseph Rosendo's 2 trips to San Antonio!

Boat tours cost money but will let you see more without walking as much. Moat of the restaurants/bars are pricey, but mice and several are unique. Anywhere you park in the city is going to cost you. The Riverfront mall has a parking garage with options based on time and can be a better deal depending on where you are going. Most parking areas are not cast, they are pay by phone.

Head towards the "Museum Reach" area of the River Walk to The Pearl. There are lots of good restaurants there and shopping. Past The Pearl you will find the Witte Museum and the Smoke Shack. Both are worth your time. A good place to eat along the River Walk is Ocho and Tre Trattoria (which is attached to the San Antonio Art Museum).

the River Walk is great - but crowded.
the River Walk is great - but crowded. If you go in the summer, prepare to sweat profusely. Besides being hot, it is also so humid you'll feel like you just got out of a shower. Also, if you are drinking, remember there are very few guard rails along the river walk, so be careful not to get too tipsy and fall in!

Room was comfortable and clean. Also enjoyed the pool. The best about this hotel is location, right on the river walk, very short and enjoyable walk till restaurants, shops, the Alamo (10-15mins)
The location is great for the River Walk.
The staff is helpful and friendly.
The hotel has been kept updated.
The breakfast offerings were good.
I would definitely stay there again.
Pool area was nice given the location. Eating options were varied and of good quallity.
The bar staff and gentlemen working during our stay was excellent.
The location was good. The city centre was easily reached from the hotel, but The Marriot was a lot quieter than the downtown area and a lot cheaper. Plus didn't have to pay crazy valet parking rates in the city centre hotels. We were glad we had chosen to stay there for our 2 nights, rather than the hotels around the river walk.
The hotel appeared to be a bit aged on the upper floor rooms, but the room was nice enough and even had a kitchen available. The location is superb and you'll be hard pressed to find a better one. Theres easy access to downtown and the river walk. Breakfast on our 2nd day there had amazing items for a breakfast tacos you could make yourself.
Fab location for visiting downtown San Antonio. Very close to The Alamo and to the river. Recommend walking along the river the The Pearl Brewery (about 1½ miles). The river walk is fabulous with some great bars an restaurants very close to the hotel.
Breakfast was great (except cereals, see below). Lovely mushroom & cheese omelette and plenty of bacon
Location excellent for Alamo and River walk. Easy to find after a long journey and has plenty of parking. Quirky little hotel after a hiccup with hot water was very comfortable. Nice place for breakfast around the corner.
Hotel is close to Center. Walking distance to San Antonio River Walk - really close! Parking 10 USD over night very reasonable. First impression was not great but then going up to our room was very OK - nice and comfortable beds and very clean everything. no issues at all with the room
Only 5 min walk to the venue, to the river walk, accession to the outdoor pool of the Menger Hotel, view at the Alamo from my room, Crockett Tavern in the evening ...
The room in the hotel was very large and comfortable. There was a very large bed, a sofa, two desks areas with seating, a very good kitchen, a large bathroom with walk in shower, and ample storage space. The Wifi worked very well, and the staff were extremely helpful. The hotel itself is very well positioned for the river walk, Alamo, the cathedral, and the convention centre. While not inexpensive, it was reasonably priced.
