A Grimm Fairytale
Although known for the Nuremberg Trials, this Bavarian city has a stunning medieval core of cobbled streets and half-timbered buildings that wouldn’t look out of place in a fairytale. Sitting above this is the castle, one of the most important in the Holy Roman Empire. Take the steep walk up here for fantastic old town views.
Hauptmarkt square in the old town is home to an unusual-looking church and a Gothic fountain, spectacularly lit during the annual Nuremberg Christmas markets. Selling everything from wooden toys to lebkuchen (gingerbread), these are widely considered the best Christmas markets in Germany.
Other attractions in Nuremberg (Nürnberg in German) include the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, the country’s largest museum of culture and art. Another highlight is the Heilig-Geist-Spital, a medieval hospital by the Pegnitz River.
A word must also be said about its relationship with Nazism. On the south-east corner are the immense Nazi Rally Grounds and Party Congress Hall, built in appropriately domineering fashion. The excellent Documentation Centre here is a sensitive and unbiased portrayal of life under Hitler. It is also possible to visit the courtroom where the war trials were held.
Before leaving your Booking.com apartment, hotel or hostel to go to Nuremberg Airport, don’t forget to try the spicy local sausage!

You can 'do' Nurnberg in a couple of days, in my view. We only had an overnight stop, never enough to do justice tor anywhere, but by taking a sightseers' tour we got the gist then had a good meal in the evening. Nuremberg is a lovely and very scenic little city.
Nuremberg is a lovely and very scenic little city. I took a thousand photos of memorable traditional sights. Everything is within walking distance and people are quite friendly in general. I discovered a great photo shop called FOTOMAX and will only buy my cameras from there now. There is a sense of easy living and peace there.

Well-located and easy to find. They have a restaurant on the ground floor which serves delicious food. Quiet and clean. The price per night was a little expensive but considering the Interzoo exhibition was a good deal. No coffee or tea facilities sadly. Also, the lift was not working. People were friendly and everyone we encountered spoke English and were very helpful. I love visiting Nuremberg - seeing the mixture of old and modern architecture is wonderful!

The staff at the reception was very helpful when we did our check-in. The location is good and we could get around in Nurnberg conveniently. We booked a room with a washing machine and there are also laundry detergents provided. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable.
