Very friendly easy to find motel. Surprisingly nice and clean on inside.
I loved that you could walk everywhere. Lots of restaurants and bars, and little shops. In the summer the beach would be very inviting.
We went to a pub at night before our show at the Victoria concert hall,. We had a excellent breakfast at the buttermilk cafe.

Cobourg has something for everybody.
Cobourg has something for everybody. It's a quiet town with an interesting combination of (1) a sizeable marina catering to serious boaters & sailors, (2) a large sandy public beach area that attracts mostly families, and (3) a quaint historical tourist/restaurant zone that seems to be frequented mostly by seniors.

A beautiful town with some spectacular houses. Loved the marina and the houses along the water. Next time we're there, I'd love to walk around the town and see the sights and the concert hall
We arrived as the sun was setting and had to leave before noon the next morning

The town was charming.
The town was charming. Nice old homes, a beautiful large beach with a nice marina as well. Some nice restaurants and very close to Port Hope which we visited as well.
Unfortunately they roll up the sidewalks downtown between 8pm and 9pm. We left our room on Saturday night at 9:30pm to get something to eat and everything was closed except the fast food joints close to the highway.

Cobourg is a delightful town full of history and boasts the best beach on Lake Ontario (in our experience). It's very accessible, not only by road but enjoys excellent train service as well. Although it is growing quite quickly it has managed to retain its small town charm.
This is a very unique property and worked perfectly for our group. I booked four rooms for six people who were very good friends. We had not seen each other for over 40 years! The uniqueness of this establishment made our get together so much more fun than a traditional hotel.
Not only were the rooms converted from a 100 year old jail where the bars were part of the theme, but it was extremely clean.
It is centrally located and close to the beach and main eating places.
Vanessa is a gem!
a view of the lake, peaceful lovely spot. all the amenities you could ask for. It is apparent that the hostess takes great pride in her property, and although it’s early spring and not much in bloom yet, I am sure it is stunning in the summer when full bloom surrounds this lively property. Lawn chairs and patio furniture appreciated, even when rainy I was able to enjoy outdoors and stay dry. Wonderful walking area, whether you choose the beach walk or in the cute town, it makes for a great walk.
There was no breakfast except at McDonalds. The location was fair as I was visiting friends close by.. I lived in Cobourg for 41 years. The Motel I stayed at was much improved from what it used to be.. There are still 7 or 8 persons living there permanently. I havent' lived in the area for about seven years, so I went back for visitation. The air conditioner was a little too noisey but neccessary
The location was fantastic. I was able to leave my car safely parked and walk everywhere I was going. Cobourg is a nice small town with a beautiful marina and gorgeous beach. The space is somewhat crowded but you have everything you need to have a lovely stay. Jane is very welcoming and access to lots of options for sitting in the sun or shade and enjoying the water.
Jane was a caring and thoughtful hostess. Her accomodation is a special gem, especially if you want to relax a little. The highlight of the accommodation is definitely the cozy place on the waterfront with a private beach. In town, I was able to get to everything important without a car and found some good cafés/shops/restaurants to eat or take away food.
Location was perfect, two seconds from anything. The room and hotel as a whole is very quirky and a great experience, the building was lovely! The jail exhibit is free for guests, and the prison yard was great for an outdoor hang - actually tons of little areas where you can hang outside! Common area was nice in the morning with free coffee and water!
The restaurant exceeded all expectations. A small but mighty wine list and excellent meals. Best steak I’ve had in Ontario. My sons butter chicken was perfect, light, aromatic, flavorful. Large, beautifully appointed rooms. The best sleep I’ve had in weeks thanks to the comfortable bed and privacy. I will be staying there again.
Cute little hotel in a treed natural environment with friendly check-in staff.
Big carpet free room. Working bathroom fan.
Mattress has fairly soft top but firm enough so it doesn't cave in.
Bedding comfortable and made right.
No old or chemical smells. No toxic air sanitizers or perfume smells.
Slept very well.

Every time we go to Cobourg for a weekend we stay at this hotel. We really like the experience as it is not a "typical" hote.. There is a lot of history in this location. The staff is always very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
The breakfast did not have very many options, there was no croissants, bagels, nor was there any cream cheese or fruit, which is unheard of at a hotel, even a motel would have those things.
The location just off the 401 was perfect. Considering the small breakfast area I was pleasantly surprised as the options available. Our room was facing away from the freeway so was quiet.
It was conveniently located to the main area of Coburg .
There were restaurants and shopping very vlose by .. there was a Tim Horton's just down the road
