I was pleasantly surprised to meet all age ranges including quite a few retired people like myself. People from all over the country who were very interesting. I would be happy to LIVE HERE FULL TIME. I arrived late from Tijuana airport at 3 AM. The receptionist was so nice with me and gave me something to eat. I woke up after breakfast had finished, but the housekeeper, Yolanda, fixed me a nice breakfast and coffee. The art work and decor both inside and outside is amazing. Photos don't do it justice. I will return here on my next visit.

The hotel offers mountain views, a terrace and a 24-hour front desk. Tahquitz Pines is my new favorite quick getaway!! The property is beautiful and immaculate! There is so much to do! Staff is friendly and accommodating. The decor in the various rooms and cottages are first class, not fadish or glitzy, but very tasteful and eye pleasing. The grounds at night are breathtaking! I was actually amazed at the affordability of this property compared to how fantastic this property is. I expected something far less for the price. It should be called a resort instead of retreat, although I understand why. Everything has the look and feel of being brand new. Rooms have very comfortable beds and bedding, and each room of our 2 bedroom cottage had a big screen TV along with microwave and mini frig. There are some that have full kitchens. If you are going to Idyllwild, you MUST stay here!! This is coming from someone who retired from the travel industry, so I know a good property when I see one!! You will not be disappointed!! There are so many walking trails, basketball, fitness room, recreation room with ping pong and pool, and restaurant on the grounds to open in summer. Lovely pool and spa. Wonderful playground. Firewood and pits are available for that night campfire with smores for the kids! Dog friendly! You don't have to leave the grounds, but town is only a mile down the road. Loved everything about Tahquitz Pines and am planning a trip towards summer for all ten of us!

The pool is cozy when others are out, but morning coffee around the pool was so relaxing. Not mentioned, is that there is a little lounge room, where there is nespresso, nugget ice and lots of little details that were a pleasant surprise. They also had bikes, not sure if you had to pay to rent them or not but again, convenient surprise. This was my first time staying at a small boutique hotel vs airbnb or large hotel chain in the PS area, I would absolutely book here again for a no kids get away!
