Gravesend has deteriorated over the years.

Gravesend has deteriorated over the years. It is not worth visiting. The restaurants are few and far. I can recommend a superb local pub named the Compass: great beer and great company. Gravesend is not worth visiting (unfortunately). The last time I was there wad 1982 and it was a thriving market town but now …

Gravesend is a typical declining British town.

Gravesend is a typical declining British town. The high Street is poor, there are 2 shopping centres that you can go round in literally 5 minutes. If it wasn't for the fact that we have family connections there, we wouldn't bother with the place.

Our stay at the inn on the lake was lovely...our room.was comfy and well stocked with tea, coffee ect ...housekeeping was excellent staff were friendly and helpfull from morning till night . The gardens and soundering areas were nice and kept ... There were a lot of attractions in the area for young and old to do . And the best thing was I could take my dog everywhere with me on the premises.

Very nice small town with a beautiful promanade next to the river. Nice view on the river with the green area and benches that you can sit on them and relax. For short visit/weekend it's absloutely fine. For longer can be boring.

I liked the walk to the town the buses on time when you want to catch one. As it was nice day we walked. The town has plenty of life in it. Lots of shops. Asda.Mc Donald's and other shops to brows in.

A great location, the reception lady was good, the lunch option was poor, and the area was cold but the lady on reception brought a heater which was very good. Have evening meal but there was a lady with a dog that continuously barking . We left and went to our room. Tv could be bigger very small.

Lakeside Room was requested and well pleased with view and access. Breakfast was excellent with a lovely fruit salad/yoghurt starter. Hotel was busy with a large wedding party , staff coped well with some rowdy behaviour and we were not inconvenienced. One of our party lost a sentimental ring which was found by cleaning staff in the reception area after we had all left , our friends were so very relieved to have been found to the honesty of the staff.

Visiting a friend in Gravesend and stayed at the Clarendon Royal Hotel for 2 nights. A 10 minute walk from the train station to the hotel which also has a restaurant on site. I had booked a single which was comfortable and clean, though a little warm even with the provided fan - aside from installing aircon for the two or three days it's properly hot in the UK there's not much they can do about that.

Good value for money, closer to a 4 star hotel than a 3 star hotel. Having stayed in a different hotel every day over the last week, one of the biggest issues I've found is finding a quiet room. During my entire stay, I don't think I heard a single noise outside my room, making it very easy to relax. Staff were proactive and made sure not to keep you waiting. Free off-road parking.

I stayed in Shamrock Guest House a few times during my work-related trips. It has an excellent location, just 5 minutes walk from the town centre. It’s not luxuriously decorated, but it's very well equipped (fridge, microwave, etc) and super clean! The owner is so friendly and always tries to get me the best available room. I can highly recommend it.

We love the apartment at this place, including having the kitchen, and our son loves the terrace with view of the river, it makes a visit to family in the area more special. The staff are great. The bar has been improving steadily over the last 10 years and the food and drink in there, and atmosphere, and great these days.

This looks like a very new conversion. Certainly very smart. The beds were comfy. It was very clean and tidy with all the facilities for a self catering stay. Walking distance from town. The shower had decent pressure and plenty of hot water. Nice sized lounge area.
