Food ok - staff very pleasant- but place looked grimy. Our bathroom (no shower of bath plug) had sloping roof and kept banging head. Poorest bathroom ever experienced- stayed 2 nights and failed to clean our room after first night - room 8 very poor but can’t comment on rest

We stayed in Thornton Le Dale a couple of miles outside. This location is ideal in that it is within easy reach of most local attractions and also the coast. Plenty of pubs, cafes and independent shops.

Nice little market town with plenty of places to eat in the evenings, even in the winter. It is a good centre for visiting other places nearby and it has the main attraction of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

    Clean tidy and relaxing.

Clean tidy and relaxing. The birds at the pond were lovely to see. Even saw a kingfisher. Hot tub was very nice and they even turned up the temperature to meet our preference. The hot tub was checked and attended to promptly ever day of our stay. I know Pickering very well as my daughters lives there. We used the site as a place to relax and be with my family after loosing my brother few weeks before. My husband had also retired that weekend so we wanted to be close to our family. All our needs were met but could have done with few more cooking dishes and trays as we did not want to go out to eat. Would recommend the site to others.

Such a beautiful part of the country. The town itself is great just to have a good walk around. But you are close to other locations eg. Whitby. To really enjoy in my opinion one of the best locations in England. Excellent for walkers, photography ect

Beautiful town. The NYR is a real tourist attraction.

Beautiful town. The NYR is a real tourist attraction. The stops are interesting and mostly independent! Parking is plentiful! Pickering is a fabulous base to explore the moors! Just 20 minutes to Whitby, 20 miles to York. Plenty of places to eat, lovely cafes and pubs! Don’t forget to visit the Castle. Scarborough is a 30 minute drive. People in the town are very friendly and the shops are very welcoming of dogs. Pickering is a real gem of a town! Flamingo Land theme park is about 10 mins from Pickering.

The purpose of our visit was to visit the Bangers and Cash Auction House, and to visit there memorable museum in Thornton le Dale. Pickering was a nice place. We went out of season so it was quiet and only went for two days. Ate at a Indian restaurant which was recommended to us.

Excellent hotel, well run, with very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Food was consistently good and used award winning local produce. Extensive, good looking breakfast menu. We both had the full cooked and it was outstanding. I have no doubt everything else would have been prepared to the same standard based on that, our fellow diners' discussions, and the evening meal in the restaurant prior.

Outstanding accommodation and perfect location. Sally was the perfect host, always helpful and served a delicious breakfast each morning with nothing too much trouble. With the separate bedroom with en-suite, sitting room and dining room, all spotless clean and so tastefully decorated, it leaves hotel rooms for dead. We could not recommend highly enough and would love to return ASAP. Mike and Joyce

Fantastic, friendly owners. The hotel is approx 2 miles from Pickering, so nice and quiet. The seating area outside was nice to admire the country views and we visited the horses across from the carpark too. As we wanted an early start, we were able to pre book our breakfast in the morning to save some time which was a nice touch. We would happily stay again.

The apartment had everything we needed, especially in the kitchen. We were in the Cropton apartment on the second floor, it overlooked a pub car park but it was quiet and there was a nice view. Centrally located so everywhere in Pickering is within easy walking distance.

The cottage was lovely! Quirky and the added Christmas decorations made it cosy and festive. A personal touch of tea, coffee, biscuits etc was lovely! It was in a perfect area, we went to Pickering for the Santa express with our little boy and we could walk.
