We enjoyed our stay, location was perfect. Close to everything shops and restaurants. We spent most of our time walking along the Wanaka lake and taking photos of the famous Wanaka Tree. Great view facing the lake and beautiful mountains.
Featuring panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, Aspiring Lodge Motel offers accommodation with a balcony or a private courtyard.

Large room. Convenient to supermarket and not far to walk to local restaurants. Parking was available. There is some view from the upstairs rooms.
Surprisingly, despite my complaints, had a comfortable sleep.

The lake frontage with stunning views of the mountains and lake and choices of eateries catering for vegetarians
Good parking but roadworks made it difficult at times to get around
Would recommend the Big Fig for vegetarians and Charlie Brown for great crepes

The views of the lake and surrounding area are really stunning. It’s seemed a really peaceful place with just enough to do. Plenty of eating out places to choose from and many activities and places to visit. We will definitely be back.

A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown.
A wholesome town just outside of Queenstown. I could've stayed here weeks. It was a great location to be based at for Roy's Peak Summit, more hiking and days spent by the lake. Bonus activity was a dinner and movie night at Cinema Paradiso. A really lovely town with a very live-able atmosphere.

Wanaka itself is a lovely spot.
Wanaka itself is a lovely spot. It was lovely without being too much of a tourist trap. The art gallery I visited was very good, and the two local restaurants also good and reasonably priced. The staff at the Thai restaurant were especially friendly and helpful. I wish I had stayed long enough to drive out to a few places from Wanaka.
Hosts Noelene and Bill were very friendly and very helpful.
The apartment is well equipped right down to potato chips, nuts and the free breakfast was amazing, using fresh home grown vegetables.
On arrival we received a chilled wine.
The views from this beautiful apartment
are amazing, high up on the hilltop overlooking Lake Wanaka.
This is value for money. Would highly recommend.
Once again, thank you Noelene and Bill for your amazing hospitality.
Everything was perfect! Location couldn’t be better! A really cozy apartment with a fireplace for cold times and an A/C to fight the intense heat of summer. Excellent kitchen with everything one may need. Super good and modern shower. A deck with a wooden table and chairs with the lake view for meals outside. And of course a super friendly host!
Definitely the best hotel among all those that we stayed in during out trip on the South Island!
The hotel is in a picturesque location looking out over Lake Wanaka, and we had some amazing views in the morning from our balcony. We also had access to the lakeside trail directly from the hotel for a walk around parts of the lake. The room was a good size but not huge. The on-site restaurant was very good and our waitress was phenomenal. Decent amount of parking as well, and a short walk into Wanaka itself.
- lovely friendly incredibly helpful staff
- rooms were clean with good amenities
- there is a well equipped kitchen attached to the hotel where you can cook your own meals but also a restaurant and cafe attached- both with fantastic food that you can get as room service if you like
- beds were very comfortable
- good location walking distance to all main shops and lake
This was an outstanding apartment. It was enormous, clean and well appointed. The outside patio was huge with a dining table for 6 and 2 lounge chairs. The views were spectacular of the lake and mountains. The location was right in town so it was easy to walk to everything. We stayed in 11 hotels during our trip and this was one of our favorites by far.
I pretty much never do reviews. I travel throughout NZ & Aus staying in Motels & Hotels. The friendliness of the staff is outstanding. Room was good & what a fantastic view. Also booked a spa at sunset which was amazing especially with the view of the mountain range. Highly recommend the place.
Everything about this property is gorgeous from the location, setting and furnishings. It's a really lovely holiday for a family group and a nice change from the usual Wanaka hotel chains. And for nervous drivers, don't worry - it's a simple 20 min drive into beautiful Wanaka.
The standard of this hotel was much higher than we expected. The room was immaculate, well furnished and spacious.
There was plenty of parking and only a 5 minutes drive from the lake front and the famous tree.
The guy in reception was friendly and helpful.
Lovely, private apartment at the back of the host's property. Around 20-30mins walking distance to the city centre, which is a beautiful walk. The street is safe and quiet. We enjoyed our stay there and can highly recommend.
This is a lovely BNB, with excellent amenities, lovely personal touch. The bed, ensuite and morning breakfast are all lovely and make for a be comfortable and relaxing holiday. Touches you don't get in a traditional hotel.
The location is very good and easy walk to many restaurants. The only cheap hotel that I can find during this period. Others are so expensive and the locations are not as good as this hotel. It is clean.
The motels were comfortable and warm. The facilities in the studio were clean and adequate. The 2-bedroom apartment had a great laundry, 2 good bathrooms and good living space for a family.
The Brownston Hostel was perfect for our short stay in Wanaka. The host was friendly and helpful. We liked how convenient it was to town. This is a great place to stay in Wanaka.
